Plotagon has been known for its several infamous glitches. It remains popular among mobile members of the community. Plotagon's popularity among the Vyond Community increased drastically with the shutdown of both GoAnimate For Schools and the Legacy Video Maker. Later, Plotagon Story was also discontinued for PC and Mac support in favor of Plotagon Studio. Joey and Jennifer were replaced by Acapela voices such as Rod and Karen, and the social platform on the Plotagon website was shut down entirely. Plotagon Story became available for Android devices in 2016, and in 2017, business-oriented, paid-subscription animation software for PC and Mac was released called Plotagon Studio. Around this time, grounded videos, especially ones with Caillou and Dora, became increasingly more common. In 2015, character customization was added. The original default voices were Joey and Jennifer. The app acted as both an animation creation tool, as well as a video platform where users could share their movies. Support on iOS mobile devices was added, and Plotagon became cartoonish like it is today. In 2014, Plotagon Story was released to the public. Later in the beta stages, sets of characters and scenes based on franchises such as Alice in Wonderland, Pride in Prejudice, and Marvel were added. Unlike the current version of Plotagon, there was no character customization, and characters could walk around scenes. In late 2012, a beta version was released with 5 photorealistic characters and 6 scenes. Plotagon was founded as Plotagon AB in 2011. Another limitation is that characters are unable to walk, except for in a single scene. Scenes can only have 2 characters, but "extras" can be added to make scenes seem more realistic, although they cannot interact with the characters. However, in some aspects, it is much more limited than Vyond. Also, Plotagon allows users to export their videos to up to 4K. Characters are much more expressive and can interact by kissing, hugging, slapping, or pushing. Plotagon is considered to be superior to Vyond in some ways because its animation is 3D and uses the Unity Engine. This version has paid subscriptions not unlike Vyond. The other edition, which is for PC users, is called Plotagon Studio. As such, most Plotagonists use this version. Users on mobile devices can download Plotagon Story, which is free with in-app purchases. It started to gain popularity as Vyond started to switch to HTML5 and retire the Legacy Video Maker. Unlike Vyond, it is 3D, with a large variety of emotions and expressions, as well as interactions between characters, something Vyond lacks.

Plotagon is a 3D animation creation software from Sweden that can be downloaded on both PC and mobile.
